What does Don Wise write about
Life has thrown me numerous curve balls and challenges that I’ve needed to overcome. In the end, I stand before you all as a confident and capable engineer that is ready to rise to the challenges of the future and make people’s lives better because of it. Over time I hope to impart my wisdom in life, career, leadership, research, and software engineering to all those who want to listen.
The content will be diverse, but I will use tags to achieve easy filtering for my readers. My articles will always focus on being “bite-sized” chunks of quick-to-read information. Once I hit an ideal length, I will likely split-core concepts out and drill into those topics in follow-up articles. I want to be reader-driven as much as possible. If you comment with feedback or make requests to me, I will focus more attention on specific areas to tackle my reader’s demands.

Who is Don Wise
I am a software engineer with a wide variety of experience from startups, medium-sized companies, and big businesses like Microsoft and Boeing. I’ve proven myself capable every step of the way and have committed a lot of time to be an expert at my craft.
I am now approaching the point where I have grown successfully as a generalist Software Engineer. Now I hope to narrow it down with a specific specialization. That specialization is still a tad broad, but I am dedicating it to Web Front End, focusing on performance and architecture. I will continue obsessively growing and improving my skill set (from technical, leadership, soft skills, and network). My ultimate goal is to be a distinguished engineer in the industry. I live in Kirkland, WA, USA, with my wife, a Software Engineer, and we are world travelers. (From Peru, Indonesia, Cambodia, South Africa, Iceland, and more). We are also avid adventurists from advanced scuba diving, skiing, and mountaineering (great stories in and of themselves!). I am not a person that shies away from risks. I prepare for and conquer them with a game plan and acknowledgment of the dangers.
